Insurance & Out of Network Billing

While I do not take insurance, I can provide a receipt with appropriate details for sessions that will allow you to request reimbursement from your insurance company. In order to be reimbursed, you must have Out of Network (OON) mental or behavioral health benefits. Please consult with your insurance provider to learn more about your out of network mental health benefits, as coverage can vary between insurance plans.

In addition, you must meet criteria for a mental health diagnosis, as I must provide them with a diagnosis in order for you to be reimbursed. I will collect the full fee from you at the time of service. After you submit the forms to your insurance company, they are the ones to reimburse you directly.

Accepted Payments

I accept payments via cash, debit or credit card, and HSA or FSA at the end of each session. I use a HIPAA secure payment system, Ivy Pay, that will send you a text message with a link to enter your payment choice. After the initial session, payment choice can be stored for future use.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under a new 2022 law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask me, or any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
